Katikati (pronounced - kat-ee-kat-ee) is perfectly situated within easy driving distance of major tourist locations and north island cities including Auckland, Hamilton, Tauranga, Mt. Maunganui, Coromandel and Rotorua.

The town itself has deservedly earned the title of Mural Capital of New Zealand through the beautifully painted murals adorning the walls of local businesses. Many of the works depict life as it used to be in the early days of the settlement giving visitors a glimpse into the history of this community and of New Zealand.
